We represent broadband and cable providers; programming networks; licensed and unlicensed wireless service providers; cable, wireless and Wi-Fi trade associations; satellite operators and others in a broad range of regulatory, legislative and litigation matters before the FCC, Congress, Executive Branch agencies, and federal and state courts, as well as in domestic and international business transactions.
Position Overview Mintz is seeking a Counsel with significant experience in wireless regulatory and spectrum matters to join our Technology, Communications, and Media practice. This senior lateral hire will serve as a core contributor to the firm’s most active wireless client relationships, help anchor regulatory strategy, and reinforce the section’s ability to service expanding demand in mobility and infrastructure matters.
Responsibilities - Lead and manage wireless regulatory and spectrum matters for major clients in the wireless industry.
- Advise on FCC regulatory strategy, compliance obligations, spectrum issues, and emerging wireless policy trends.
- Prepare, review, and supervise high‑level submissions, filings, and responses before the FCC and other federal agencies.
- Serve as a visible senior resource to clients, supporting both continuity and strategic growth.
- Mentor associates and help shape team structure and training specific to wireless regulatory practice.
- Support business development initiatives in wireless, mobility, infrastructure, and adjacent technology sectors.
- Work collaboratively with cross‑disciplinary teams across the firm to support client and practice‑wide objectives.
Collaboration with team members is an important component of any role at Mintz. Therefore, the firm requires working from the office approximately 60% of the time in accordance with the firm's published guidelines.
Qualifications
- Significant prior experience in wireless regulatory and spectrum matters, ideally with established industry recognition.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex regulatory matters before the FCC.
- Proven ability to engage directly with major clients on strategic matters.
- Experience supervising teams and managing multifaceted workloads.
- Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Must be admitted or eligible for admission in the District of Columbia.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Professionalism in working and engaging with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and balance competing responsibilities.
- Ability to stay organized and exercise extreme attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in team settings.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience is required.
